ABOUT

Kate Thompson, born in Wangaratta, Australia, studied at Brent Street Studios in Sydney. This foundation set the stage for a move to London and a 12-year dance career, sharing stages with artists such as Shania Twain, Dua Lipa, Jason Derulo, Katy Perry, Kelly Rowland, Adam Lambert, Ru Paul, Ava Max, Camila Cabello, Mabel, Olly Murs, James Arthur, Take That.

Kate's performances on popular TV platforms like The Masked Singer, The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, and prestigious award shows such as the BRIT Awards and MTV EMAs have solidified her reputation as a tier-one performer within the industry.

In a testament to her versatility, she was an integral part of the core dance team for Disney's live-action film The Little Mermaid, where she closely collaborated with renowned Director and Choreographer Rob Marshall to map out the dance and movement, puppeteering, stunts and more during pre-production and throughout filming.

Transitioning from the spotlight to behind the camera, Kate delved into Movement Direction. Her approach and innate understanding of motion were sought after by elite brands and events. She played pivotal roles in campaigns for global brands like Moncler and Palm Angels, orchestrated dynamic live events for Qatar Airways, and steered the visual narrative for Edeline Lee during London Fashion Week. She also assisted Emmy Award Winning Director, Jamie Neale for Cheap Cut’s ‘Make Me Wanna Dance’ music video. Kate's creativity was further spotlighted when she crafted the opening sequence for BBC's The Greatest Dancer. Here, her silhouette graced the screens and became the emblematic logo of the production.

Kate's strategic insight and creative experience found synergy with television production working with production houses and shows including Britain's Got Talent for Fremantle UK and Thames TV (one of the first people to work on the same series both as a dancer and in the production team!), Morning Live for BBC Studios, The National Comedy Awards for Channel 4, Stormzy: This is What I Mean for Amazon Music and Fulwell 73 Productions, The BAFTA Television Awards for Multitude Media and multiple breakfast shows for Cactus TV.

In the midst of the global pandemic, Kate co-founded 'move Home Studio,' an on-demand streaming platform centred around dance, fitness, and wellness. The platform swiftly became the go-to for over 3,500 global members, boasting 320+ hours of content from 35 of the world's leading instructors. Earlier, Kate directed The 5"inch Heels, a London-based female dance group, celebrating and empowering women through entertainment.
